Never seen the Achterdam like this...empty and clean. Got a lot of flack from a FB NL Forum for posting pictures but,,,there are no people in the photos so "no harm no foul"...Plus these were easy to find on Google Street View.

Does this mean Alkmaar as a RLD hotspot is now truly dead and over?

I've seen those before.
I think they were done during cleaning, well after working hours.
As far as I know, the Achterdam is alive and well.
It better be.
I plan to be there in 8 weeks.

Thankfully I can confirm that this is nonsense. I was just there yesterday, a slightly extended "lunch" outing. :-)

Currently the lineup is not what it was. A lot of the girls who were there prior to the "pandemic" have not returned but I say give it time.

Hehe, yeah I got there around 11:45 or so and it was pretty much a bust until noon, had a coffee at the Spar and then came back and found a girl I knew and visited her. So with somewhat fewer girls working in general it's tough to find someone good in the mornings now. Doesn't stop me from trying though.

Yes, unfortunately. They made the change upon re-opening after one of the more extended lockdowns, I think in July 2020.

Hahahaha, you're not far off from the truth. Actually I would like to move closer because I feel a 10 minute walk (or 2 minute bike ride) still doesn't afford me sufficient access. :D

Yeah, I mean, I don't know where else to go these days. I tried Den Haag a few weeks ago and, while the lineup was interesting enough, the city itself is pretty much a shithole. Not really fun for me and definitely not worth 90 minutes on the train each way. So I have my regulars on the Achterdam and I'm happy enough, still.

With apologies to Mitch Hedberg: I used to cringe when I saw Alkmaar mentioned on the board. I still do, but I used to, too.
This is because the overpaying retards who made Amsterdam what it is today will read these posts as well and I'd prefer Alkmaar stay off the radar for the most part. So, guys: if you come to Alkmaar, please bring your brain with you, and please don't ruin it for us poor bastards stuck trying to survive on a Dutch salary. Really.

Yes, my mistake. I should have said I experienced some vibrant culture and amazing diversity! Both of which are plainly obvious when visiting said areas.
