What is the best time of the day to visit Alkmaar? I want to go to the cheese museum, but not at the expense of the RLD and can't stay overnight as already booked hotel in Amsterdam.

What time does it all start/get busy?

I thought the Cheese Market thing is after the 1st of April, and only on Friday mornings - somewhere from 9-11am.

I think some girls start showing up around 13:00 but the place doesn't really stop hoppin' until late afternoon/early evening. The train ride from Amsterdam is short, 30 min. maybe. Unless your schedule is tight it wouldn't be too difficult to visit the cheese market (since it's April now) and hit the RLD a few hours later after a nice lunch, or drink, or smoke, or all of the above if you visit on a Friday.

I actually meant the cheese museum, as I fly back friday at 9am so will miss the market.
