Ryanair also have regular Stansted/Dusseldorf (Weeze) or Stansted/Eindhoven flights, both not far from GT, I think twice a day, too bad it's alway kind of early in the morning or at night.
Hopefully cheaper deals after august......

Try www.dohop.com. It is the only good search engine that I know of that also checks the low fare airlines.

Mike,
Yes Ryanair also have cut down on their German flights recently. At this moment they are having a regular sale so from London Standsted to Dusseldorf Weeze can be from £15 incuding tax if you fly midweek early August! But you said these flights are too early for you:((
I remember I used to fly from London at 07:00ish and then be at PHG before they opened at 11AM!
You might also try British Airways who have recently announced cheaper flights, although they will be more expensive that the Ryanairs/Easyjets, they may have more suitable times for you.

Just a couple of ideas - haven't checked them out against your requirements.
Air Berlin ( www.airberlin.com) flies from Stansted to many places in Germany (and elsewhere).
www.cheapflights.co.uk is a search engine for, well, what its name suggests.
Hope these are worth a go.

Try Germanwings or flydba.com, both go from Stanstead and offer various flight times, good luck!

I would go with BA, all things considered. While not EasyJet or RyanAir pricing, still reasonable and you have a wide selection of flights. BMI used to be my first choice, but things there seemed to be really gnarled up lately.
In your shoes, I'd never consider flying into Hahn. Too much lost in terms of opportunity cost schlepping there and back.

Just to remind all- Lufthansa is still providing return flights for around £70. Provided you book a bit ahead. It can easily be cheaper than Easyjet, you get some choice of departure times - and you don't get treated like cattle. Particularly relevant for thos eof us who live miles from Stansted

Riotair have canned the Prestwick to Luebeck route but have introduced Eindhoven and Riga. Things are looking up but Scotland is poorly served by other budget airlines
