Is it not interesting that the bells of the Oude Kerk chime out the signature tune of Hitlers favourite composer, Wagner. "Die Valkyrie" currently rings out on the halfhour and hour, as it has for perhaps the past 2 weeks, during which time occur two interesting events:

1. April 20, marks Mr. Hitlers birthday. (another odd, or appropriate, as you believe, coincidence--- it's Mr. AXXXTW's as well--lets not go into both parties being "artists", either, K? Or holy smokes, that whole 4/20 thing---but we digress.)

2. One of Hitlers very own youths, originating from Die Fuhrers old power base in Bavaria, Cardinal Ratzenburger, Raduzinger, or Ratsinger or whatever :-) is elected leader of the Catlick church, thereby succeeding the former pontiff, the Polish Pope, whose country by sheer coincidence was decimated by the country from which the new Pope originates?

One wonders if Diebold ( a German name?) voting machines were installed in the Vatican in any case. Or Diebold Bell Services programmed the current selection of the Oude Kerk?

At the very least, it's a funny tune to hear whilst observing the roaming Wallen hoards.

Any of this can do ones head in :-)

Isn't that music played when the Valkyrie collect fallen heroes from the battlefield and take them to Valhalla? I think I'd like my Valkyrie to be from the south side of the Oude Kirke.

It's probably just to remind you that you're in a place fit for heroes, so long as the money/Viagra lasts......

I hear Phil Jackson got two votes for Pope.

But seriously, you do know that something like 85% of Diebold's business is ATMs, and from personal experience I can tell you they are the most reliable on the market. After years of using the same ATM on the second floor of my local racetrack one day I read the name on the front panel: Diebold. Which leads me to ask, Why can't they punch you out a paper receipt when you vote?
