WINSTON HOTEL -are there mains powerpoints (plugs) in rooms?

if so presumably i'll need some sort of adaptor for a 3 pin uk plug?

Yes and they are the European style round ones.

Incidentally, I see the Winston has changed hands.. I wonder if it will stay as the 'Art' hotel..

didn't know it'd changed hands - it's certainly an "art" hotel at the mo according to them.

aye, you need an adaptor, you will be able to buy one at the airport brfore you leave the UK.

New owners at the Winston? I hope they don't screw it up. I like it pretty much as it is. If the plan is to "make it better" and then jack up the prices...well, I just hope that isn't the plan.

I think that is the plan, though they have given me one of the good rooms for €50 next month..

Soon it will be a St Christopher's hostel.

Is that some kind of franchise? What are they known for? I thought a "hostel" was a step down rather than up on the star rating?

New St Christopher’s hostel in Amsterdam

St Christopher’s has recently bought the Winston Hotel in Amsterdam. We will be re-branding part of the hotel as St Christopher’s Inn over the coming months, but are open right now!

Hostel Info

well i can report that all seems to be the same for the time being. chilled ambiance, clouds of weed, not bad brekkie.
