Starting June 24th Americans can enter the Netherlands for any reason, without a vaccine or negative test. Nothing will be required.

I wish they would require vaccination or a negative test at a minimum. I'd hate for them to have a third wave and go into lockdown again in mid-July. It really seems like money talks and they now just want the tourist dollars. I think Germany will have the same policy – not sure the date. Correction Germany will allow travelers from non-variant areas beginning 25 June as long as they have proof of vaccination. Seems a much more sensible policy.

I don’t know if this is real that people from the US can travel to the Netherlands on June 24 . We have tickets for the first of August and right now are concerned if we will be permitted to travel to the NL. I belong to another forum and they are telling people that we will not see the European experience till 2022. There are less the 600 cases of covid in the entire country of NL but they are concerned with people on holiday bringing the Delta variant.

Thanks to the new rules they will implement on the 24th of June. I will be scheduling a trip in mid July. Wonderful that they won’t require vaccines or testing. https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/n ... m-june-24/

Waiting until Thursday/Friday this week to book. I don’t think USA will require tests to get back in.

funfor2houston wrote: But what kind of hoops will we be going through to get back to the states ? I think, as it stands, it is mandatory to have a negative PCT test result just before you travel back to the states (0-3 days before flight back), whether or not you are vaccinated Here is the link to the details: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... vid19.htmlThe testing and / or quarantine after returning don't appear to be mandatory, irrespective of whether you are vaccinated.

Netherlands downgraded from Red to Amber. Not sure is the move will negate a need for a negative before returning to the US of A and again this is a rapidly changing situation.

Even if we need to take a test to return back to the USA, it will be nothing to worry about. Getting them is around 40-50 euro and they have many testing places in amsterdam. Hopefully by mid July they won’t require it coming from Netherlands. Not too worried as I would just have to have another 10 days in Amsterdam if you test positive.
