Interesting recent short overview of the history of the RLD (in Dutch). Some of the narration favors the "overtourism = BAD" line; this can be expected, seeing the source. But it does provide a good sense of how this great tradition has persisted there over the centuries despite all manner of opposition.

Since this was intended for a Dutch audience, it makes certain assumptions about what viewers might be expected to know. Around 3:01 reference is made to the murders of five hookers in de Wallen from 1956 to 1963, including one lady called "Skinny Jossie." Does anybody have more information about these events? Were they related or all separate crimes? Was there anything unique or outstanding about the demise of Skinny Jossie that the creators of this video saw fit to mention her by name?

Good pics of old time Dutch working ladies at 2:28 and 2:39 (in recent years, I think I saw some of them still at it in Singel).
