Their have been many threads relating to the issue of taking and posting images of the punters. I think the feeling is this would not be appropriate in terms of the punters perspective and additionally their has been much warning to the dangers of conducting such an act.

I was shown at the weekend a device that acted as a micro digital video recorder which I believe would be almost unnoticable. We tested the kit in low level lighting and found we got excellent quality images, equivallent to 1mb resolution. You need to be stationary for approx 1 second in order for the auto focus to work but during editing you can capture images form the video.

I'm not going to describe in detail the device as I'm adamant many of the punters read this board, but I cannot see how they would notice the lens or equipment. Saying that I would have to assemble the camera away from the kamur before implanting it in the ceiling.

I've always wished any images bravely taken were posted as I believe it would really add content to this Board.

Any comments?

Fine if you want to put my picture on the net visiting a kamer girl-i have nothing to hide!

I do respect the girls wish for privacy and would only take pictures with their permission. That,s only inside the kamer though after the session.Every one that let me take pics asked not to be on the internet and i respect their wishes and only kept the pics for myself

Mike,

Genius...what an original idea. I think that this should be considered for "Featured Post" status, right along side SCREW YOU BASTARDS.

In case you missed it, and I am shocked that you would have, pictures of punters (leading or newbie) are already being taken!! Its those little cameras placed on the buildings all over the area and watched by your friendly law enforcement professionals.

While I'm at it, and since I'm bored and have nothing of value to contribute to the board (not to infer that I have ever had anything of value to contribute) because I can't visit for another year, I looked up punter on Google, even though you had provided me a definition previously. How's that for a run-on sentence? Sorry

The first three pages (when I quit searching) dealt with betting and bookies so evidently if you have nothing better to do than photograph folk at the Holland Casino, go for it man... Not to be deterred since I know you also do research before posting, I went to londonslang.com and the defintion there is "the paying public, a customer" Therefore, by logical extension, you could also go the the Magna Center and film many more famous punters.

Sorry, I suppose I'm "wanking ON".

Your Arthurian friend,

Skip

ps where might one obtain an anti-irony injection? At the chemist, beside the gay whale nukeing section??

Punter in seaside resorts takes on a different meaning also...

Anyway, I am not sure about anti-irony injections, but I strongly suspectthey are available at every good drug store (without prescription) in the United States.

Stop it, stop it.

We will confuse Wim again. He's still stuck on that winsome lass, Lassie......... Since he has mastered oxymoron we can now move on to alliteration.

When you see him get him a 350 gram steak this time. Whatever 350 grams is.

Punters at seaside resorts...Hummm. Back to Google.

Skip, Mike

Now wait a moment - I get the oxymoron , I know what a stable lad and a stable lass is , I know all about wanking - I know something about punters (ask Withnail, he's our cockney-expert, but he's very busy now)
but you don't get my metering:

"and needing a meter stick to measure your dick in Alkmaar (did I get that right?)" , nice but not all the way :

Dutch punters saying is: in any RLD "kom ik meters lul tekort" = "In ....... I'm short of meters ..... " hey hey

Anyway , when my scandalous "leaving the RLD-kamer" photo is on all relevant websites - i will pobably stop puntering and restrict myself to community wanking - it's boysfun and not homosexual related ....., saves me a lot of Euro's .....

Now, I am impressed if you know what a Grockle is and what its relationship to a punter is.

Word now falling out of use, but a great word...

Clue - it is NOT quite what you get when typing in Google, that is a southerncentric view.

Good riddle, but I will give it a go. (I know, it is not technically a riddle)

It's a Devonian term for anyone outside of Devon, particuarly tourists and used in a derrogatory manner. Ok, its a southerncentric view but I am from the South and proud of it.

This may be the best definition "They have a unique behaviour and identity that allows them to be easily spotted in any situation. They will always visit a market, or car boot sale, or similar low-budget event, no matter what the weather. Further to this unique phenomenon, they will actually purchase some items there, blissfully unaware that it's been the same stuff on sale for as many years ". Sounds like de Wallen on a weekend except for the low-budget part.

In my narrow view, it is probably like the emmets who begin invading Centraal Station on a Friday afternoon and recede back to their island home around noon on Sunday..............

You are right it is a great word. Far more fetching than punter.

I must thank you since in my research I also learned that England is used where Britain is often meant especially by careless or ignorant Americans. Did you, by chance, have a hand in writing that definition?? It was England when it counted... in Arthur's day. I need to know, is HRM the Queen of England or Britain?

Only 21 more replies and you will catch screw you bastards. Maybe Peter's Wife will join in as she did in the great bag discussion..........

Hope you and Wim have a good "community wank"!

Wrong.

As I warned you - that definition was southerncentric.

The original term was a scottish gaelic word, meaning a little troublesome mole. Scum, vermin.

As hoards of Scottish tourists invaded the town of Blackpool (averaging 5 million, at the turn of the century then up to 16 million tourists per year in the mid seventies at its peak) they carried the word with them, saying that everyone acted like "hoards of grockles".

The term stuck, and then the Blackpool fair workers and fairground gypsies started to pick up the word and spread it around the other tourist and seaside destinations on the tourist industry destination list.

The Queen is directly the Queen of England, Wales, Scotland and Nothern Ireland, and head of state in many ex-colonies.

Some people still take that seriously too.

Cleft in twain............. Figuratively, of course.

Thanks for the illumination. That "little troublesome mole" sounds like what Quimrod was suffering from in the thread on dick rot and bags from the chemist. As in "oh shit, I brought a grockle back from.............. (I know stupid and pretentious.)

Funny, I am not surprised that the Blackpool roadies would spread things in the cities they visited, but words would not be he first thing that came to mind. What can I say, I'm southerncentric.

Not to be political, but has the Queen told the folks in Northern Ireland about the arrangement?

I think the folks in Northern Ireland tell the Queen on this matter. The majority (only just nowadays) tend to be firecely loyalist and consider themselves British until dead. More British than the British in fact.

Which is part of the problem, Northern Ireland would probably have been dumped many times over if it wasnt for the pesky people living there making a nuisance of themselves not wanting to be part of the Republic of ireland.

Thank you, kind sir, for another geo-political lesson. Blackpool roadies, grockles and Northern Ireland in the same post, quite enlightening.

Now go fetch the railway mags (or bags??) for Wim and should you see your ball-biter friend on Bergstraat, give her my regards.

Ciao,

Skip,

Funny you should mention my cock rot in passing during the illuminating debate on this thread. I'd just like to inform the board that I have ANOTHER minor case of cock-rot after this weeks visit. I must have the unluckiest appendage in the world. Either that or it's just too damn sensitive.

Cant even enjoy all the cheapo hardcore DVD's from Waterlooplein because it's best to keep the Old Chap on a tight leash during these times of crisis.

Damn.

PS Don't know anything at all about Grockles

Quim,

Hope you had a good visit....under the circumstances. Next time I would suggest you try and bring home a different kind of souvenir.

You didn't happen to visit the lady that was washing Mike's hardware with the dirty flannel (whatever that might be) did you?? I think you should return the bag to the chemist and indignantly demand a full refund.

If you can't enjoy the DVD's you can always hawk them on ebay. Or perhaps, that other web site.

Finally, if you don't know about grockles, then how about emmets?
