After traveling to AMS several times I think it is about time to learn how to pronounce some of these street names. I have grown tired of having to write everything down and ask some kind person to help me find ( as I point to my paper ) this place.
I was wondering if there is a sight where I can learn how to pronounce these names by seeing there phonetic spelling?
I am also interested in learning the basics of the language but from what I understand it is no easy task.

Check out http://ilk.kub.nl/g2p-www-demo.html . You type in a Dutch word and it pronounces it for you. When I started playing with it I was amazed at how many words I've badly mispronounced over the years.
