I want to visit some nice places incl. Coffee shops and brothels, but I dont want to go to Red lights district any more!!
Does anyone... anyone knows any quite locations for cofee shops and brothels around the Central Station? I mean on the other side of Damrak. Nice and quite... Relaxed atmosphere and not loud and annoying tourists and junkies.

I am not looking for a club or a formal BROTHEL where predominantly you have to book places. Also if any of these Prives are indeed what I am looking for - are there any that are located On the other side of Damrak. (I will be staying at Crowne plaza hotel) and I am only interested in INCALLS. Meaning I want to come in there... I mean Red Windows would be fine as long as there are not in the RLD. I think all of you would agree that RLD is filthy, dirty and dodgy place, which one would avoid if... could :-)
So... are there red windows not in RLD? or any informal brothel there?

The area I am talking about is:
VOORBURGWAL
SPUISTRAAT.

It sounds like you are looking for the Singel area - select "Maps" from the second drop down on the left, then click "Singel" on the resulting page. I think its the third link down . . .

On the Singel, no - it's windows, not brothels (please correct me if I'm mistaken, anyone?). When you speak of the business here, it is predominantly windows or privés. If you're in on a Tuesday evening, there's a deaf girl Suzan who is quite well recommended. Works late evenings. Right across from the old Cok City hotel (what is it called now?)

I'm not sure what you're used to when it comes to "brothels", but a Dutch privé is a fairly nice environment, one which the ladies certainly have control over their environment. It's not like any place I've seen back in the US. You enter, are introduced to the ladies and, if nothing floats your boat, you can just say thanks and leave.

I don't know of any decent privés in the Singel area, but two of the better privés are Club Bianca and Park 118. I've not tried Bianca's but it's getting rave reviews (just look at the Amsterdam section, perhaps a page or two back) and I do love the jacuzzis at Park - it adds a nice, slippery dimension.

They're both in nice areas so there's no slumming like in the main RLD. Park 118 is easy to get to, directions are included in many reports here and most cabs know it by heart...I'm sure Bianca is on their radar now too.

If you want a call-in, then you need to be looking for an escort service. Once you're here, there are plenty in the yellowpages as well as on this site in the ESCORTS section, Look at the drop down menu on your left. Women of the World and Zuzana tend to get the best reviews here.

Which brings me to my last point - You shouldn't expect too much guidance here. There is much to read and to familiarize yourself with, but this is a board where we share experiences and notes on this wonderful sport we all enjoy. No where does it say that we run a support board for the RLD, which is why you received some terse replies. It's a cooperative, self-reliant ecosystem, and obvious questions can often go ignored...the answers are here, but you have to be an active participant. Otherwise, darwinism takes hold.

Do you have an Amsterdam city map? It sounds as if you have been there before but a map would still be helpful.
But if you want to prowl the Singel RLD step out the door of your hotel. Cross Niewezijds Voorburgwal. Walk to Korte Kolksteeg. Turn right. Turn left on Oude Nieuwstraat. Voila!
If nothing suits you there cross the canal on Lijnbaanssteeg. Continue south to Bergstraat. Repeat as necessary.
This is all within a few hundred meters of you hotel

True, true - I did have the Jan Blik in the back of my mind, but as I was trying to be **helpful** I thought I'd give it a pass. ;)

Never been to a Jan Blik - never heard anything good about them (They seem to be the "CheezWhiz" of brothels - I'm more of a gruyere-man myself)

Stansie, I had some fantastic times in Jan Bik but that was before I left NL. Subsequently I heard that their contingent of lovely Eastern European babes have since been moved on. Nonetheless...if you want a proper brothel then JB is the place.

Is there really any significant difference between a brothel and a prive? The only difference I can think of is that brothels often do a line-up of all the girls at once (Las Vegas style) and prives have them come to the waiting room one at a time (for a few seconds each). Oh, and brothels often don't take care to make sure you don't see any other male customers whereas some prives do.
