I have noticed a couple of postings that mention a "one day rail strike".Was this strike actually a 1 time thing or do the trains shut down from time to time for 1 day? It sure seems as though a rail strike in The Netherlands could cause widespread havoc.

There was a one day Tram and Bus strike one week ago yesterday. Was this what you are referring to?

I think that is the one.....However,I seem to recall someone mentioning a 1 day strike a few months back.

I believe there was a one day strike on June 17th while we were there. It seems that this occurs from time to time. They were suppose to strike on June 9th, which would of stranded us at Schipol trying to go to Antwerp. That strike didn't happen. If you are going to rely on them, be sure to monitor for strikes.
