Has anyone ever paid a visit to this place on Herengracht? One of my friends goes there after every long haul flight into Amsterdam and loves it!

Doesn't seem too bad a place. I might have to pay a visit, something I have never really considered doing.
Sorry i can't help but thanks for the link.

I usually stay at the Ambassade Hotel, which is right next door to Koan float. I've walked past the place a number of times. I never tried it; my personal belief is that it's a gimmick. You have to climb into a tank (actually, its more like a coffin). I think it would be a little too claustrophobic for most people.

Can you get a hand job in there? Looks a bit cramped to me!

Been a few times, for the float and massage. The float experience is very relaxing, there is a light in the tank if your scared of the dark, new age music (sounds of the ocean type crap, just switch it off) and a link to the desk in case of any accidents. It's very clean, you have a private room with shower, which you do before and after the float.
The massage is a theraputic type and well relaxing, and if I remember correctly it's not that expensive, an excellent way to spend a slow afternoon.
Give it a try, you will enjoy.

I went for a massage and a float combo on my last trip. I personally thought the massage was weak. The float was pretty relaxing, but next time I will return to Chaing Mai instead ; )

420, I went there on a Friday afternoon last Thanksgiving weekend. They didn't have any openings (I just wanted the float), but said that I could come back at 17:00 later that afternoon. Well you know how things go in A'dam - I never made it back. I wouldn't recommend it for you, 420 - your hash pipe might get wet.
