hello all - another jolly old day in amsterdam. its been another hot one too and the mini skirt meter is well above 'fuck me!!' level. i thought id share with you all a little scene which has become a regular tuesday night 'its a knockout' here in the city. every tuesday in oude nieuwstraat there works two particular girls, side by side, names of francine and zora. i had heard rumours that these two were quite an act, together or seperately, so naturally i meandered along some weeks back with a view to gaining some first hand reportage. alas both young upstarts appeared occupied though were certainly in attendance due to the hand written signs on adjacent kamer doors. i passed by again at various times throughout that first tuesday night but to no avail. furthermore it appeared that at least two admirers each time appeared poised to jump in the moment they had chance.

i checked back several times over these past few tuesdays, getting more intrigued by this evident cult following. the girls appear so popular that each subsequent time i have passed (they only work tuesday evenings i believe) there are more and more guys waiting at the doors. tonight when i passed, as always the windows were empty but the signs were there, and there appeared to be at least 5 or 6 blokes milling about. three waiting right in front of the doors and several others lurking with intent nearby, not even glancing at the other windows around. i really wanted to hang about and watch the scrum when the latest punter was evicted. ive sometimes seen guys waiting about for particular girls before, obviously, but nothing like this. all i can say is these girls must be quite something and i guess whoever is lucky enough to win the door scrum probably books as much time as his pocket allows. the golden goose doesnt make itself available too often it seems. next week im going to swing by there in the early hours and see whats what as im told they work till 4 or so. any first hand experience from any board attendees i wonder?

elsewhere on oude nieuwstraat things were dead quiet at 8pm this evening. korte whats-its-name was a little busier with a couple of cute 35 euro latinas but bergstraat offered only two ladies, marina included. i saw marina yesterday morning also as i cycled to work - im pleased to say my morning route takes me through most of the singel. im also now working less than 10 minutes walk from the wallen which can make for a fun lunchtime stretch of the legs. unfortunately todays lunchtime saw me heading up to the albert heijn on damrak for a sarnie only to fall off my bike as i returned, plum outside the victoria hotel. my chain came off and i headed straight onto my knees somehow - now i look like the kid that fell over in the playground. i narrowly missed being hit by a damned great bus as i lay and have to thank a kindly american gent who helped me to my feet and held the bastard bike while i spun the chain back on. id fully expected my virgin bike wreck to happen whilst stoned/pissed so it just goes to prove youve gotta watch out at all times. and all this happens just one day after ive managed to perfect riding one handed with my briefcase. typical!

i took a little side mission last night to check out the wonders of de pijp red light district. would you believe not a single lady to be 'had' at 7.45 as i rode by. i decided to leave it a while before heading back for the counter attack so steered my way down to van wou straat and super erotic videotheek, a veritable 'whos done who' of porno movies, to check out the latest from red light district video instead. ambled about in there for a while checking out the wares (for porn fans this is quite a mecca if youre in town with the lowest prices i have seen anywhere) before figuring enough time had elapsed for it to be worth another drive-by. this time only one girl out, a very sexy blonde but im afraid ive binged on those a little of late and was looking for something different. maybe i shouldve given bloedstraat the once over, i hear you say. headed over to park 118 but again the pickings were meagre. ended up mooching over to sex shop miranda, on the corner of sarphatipark where again they have a huge choice of porn. prices however seemed more in line with the kind of 'mask and flintlock' prices you might expect to see in de wallen. so all in all i went home empty handed. not much of a story that was it? well, thats just how it goes sometimes on a monday night.

finally the most exciting news of the day which was brought to me by SMS message direct from the lab of professor wim, as i sat at my desk early this afternoon. 'dida is back, in utrecht'. big smiles all round :-) i can see a long and sandy path......

Amsterdam certainly brings out the worst in accident-prone people....if it's not falling down a hole in a coffeeshop, or falling off your bicycle while turning to stare at some local girl in fuck-me heels, it's another thing!

Actually reminds me of the last time Withnail and I were chilling out, nearby to the Nieumarkt....

Twas nearly 8pm but the sun continued to shine on brightly in Amsterdam...the evenings seem to last forever. As Withnail had given me the grand-royal tour of his new home city earlier that day, I wanted to return the favor by showing Withnail to one of my favorite coffeeshops that he hadn't yet been to. It was Cafe STIX's not-so-new location on Korte Konnisteeg, just East of the Waag. In previous visits, I'd met a beautiful budtender at this location, and the relaxed and shady vibe inside can't be beat. Plus, although it's situated in the city centre, it's located on the corner of a quiet intersection and offers some excellent gear at competitive prices.

We strolled in to STIX that evening and there she was, vigorously cleaning the laquered wooden bar top with a cloth, the summer heat glistening on her shapely arms! Okay, yes, I was high, but indeed, the girl is sweet and cute taboot. I picked up some hasj and Withnail some grass before squeezing in to our spot near the front door, on a pair of stools looking out the garage-door style window. Great people watching vantage point.

In the process of rolling my spliff, I bobbled a good chunk of hasj and it fell beneath the table where we were sitting. The front door of the shop though, was being held wide open directly behind me, it's door knob positioned a few inches from the small of my back while I sat in the stool. Did I mention I was stoned to the bone? The hash on the floor, I dipped down beneath the table to search for it and after a moment, I did find it. Happy with my discovery, I stood up fast. And managed to knock my head against the edge of the table in the process, barely averting seriously biting my tongue (of course my tongue tends to hang out on a hot summer day in Amsterdam). *bang!* OW, that certainly hurt quite a bit, I thought to myself as I rubbed the lump that was growing in a cartoon-like fashion by the second. I heard Withnail laughing his ass off...schadenfreude! With a final effort, looking forward to smoking the found hasj, my high, tired and injured body crashed down on to the stool and lo and behold, there was that door knob, right in the small of my back! ARGH! Double doozy.

In the wake of watching this one-two-punch happen, Withnail broke out laughing yet again, "Heh heh heh," he said, "do you want me to crack ye 'cross the jaw and just be done with it?"

Which, I must admit, I found to be funny as all hell! I may have taken him up on it, to put me out of my misery, but alas, resolved instead that much smoke must be consumed afterwards in a feeble effort to dull the pain :)

Stay in that bike path Withnail, and watch out for stoned, accident prone tourists!

Great puntering Withnail - this week I was after Maya and I decided to do the Nightwalker-tour , because I missed her several times - get some sleep first back home (had a night off , so what the hell, you need to do something) then at 2 am my bell ring and I jumped up sharply . NOT hop in the car to the factory , no, but hop on the bike and go see Maya , that is a lot better - I ran into her at 3 am Spuistraat 15 , oh my sweet , she was talking a lot of Dobre da on her cell to some fellow but I sit on the bed and didn't get jealous and started to touch where old men usually touch young girls and she pointed her finger on her mouth , shhhhh , you know how that goes. Anyway , I had a good time with her and, what I wrote elsewhere , she is on holidays in Eastern Europe now and follows her girlfriends (like little Eva from Bulgaria) to several destinations. I like that kind of happy free girls !
BTW the scene at 3 am was good in Spuistraat , at 22/24 I saw bright looking blondes of Tromp-looks, also nr 19 , on the corner of Korte K .... steeg (new kamers new address) looks promising.

Seriously though - Levitra is excellent. I'm down to 1/3 of a tab and the party goes on for hours, zonder headaches. I tried a whole one the first time and I felt like I was in the road company for "Scanners". Man - I thought my eyes were going to pop out, especially driving back at late at night - lovely for the optic nerves. 1/2 - 1/3rd and the little general happily marches on.

I've never tried Levitra but I think Cialis is great. Very smooth, ramps up to full effect in under an hour, no bad side effects, and it lasts (in my case) for a solid 2 days*. Pop one at the airport and forget about it until the day after next...no need to time this drug.

* I think it's advertised as being good for 36 hours, but it lasts longer for me...

I'm new on the Vitamin-V diet, but even the 1/3 of the Levitra tab runs me through a PHG trip easily. (I hate medicating for anything -- won't even take aspirin unless I'm bleeding from the ears, figuratively speaking.) Frankly, I think my knees will give out long before, um, anything else.

I don't like taking unneeded drugs....usually....and strictly speaking I don't really *need* Cialis either. I consider it a recreational drug like pot...and what better place for that than Amsterdam?
