Hiya,

First time poster! I hope to go to Amsterdam in the not too distant future and was wondering how easy it is to get vegetarian food? I know the Maoz Falafel bars are veggie, but I am thinking more along the lines of where to eat for breakfast and evening meals etc. Also, could anyone recommend a cheap but nice hotel withing easy reaching distance of the RLD action?

Another question, might sound a bit silly...sorry......but is Amsterdam safe, i.e. what are the chances of getting mugged etc?

You shouldn't have too much trouble eating well in AMS. I am strictly lacto-vegetarian and never have any trouble. Most places will have a veggie option or two on the menu but there are a fair number of vegetarian restaurants to be found. My favourite is probably Green Planet on Spuistraat (http://www.greenplanet.nl/index2.htm) which serves excellent food, though it may not be the cheapest in town. I have to say though, never uderestimate the Maoz falafel for they are truly excellent :-)
