Hi, traveling to A'dam 6 times through the year. Going to stay a week at a time.

Can anyone in A'dam or someone that knows, can you tell me what it would cost to get a phone for a week? And where to get it???

It has to access just A'dam only.

Thanks!

Mark

Just buy one. I think mine was only about 50-60 euros. I got the Siemens phone. It's a pay as you go system and you need only reload it with more euros when the balance gets low. I have the Orange plan and the phone cards you buy on their plan don't expire so the money will be good from one trip to another.

I also bought a Siemens mobile, at the Orange store on Rokin.
Decent phone with voice mail, text messaging, charger, etc.
Cost 49 euros, I think, and comes with 5 euros calling credit on it
and you get another 10 euros credit when you activate it, although that
might have been a limited time offer, maybe?

I visit the city twice a year and find having a mobile a real help when it
comes to tracking down your friends. Chose the Orange mobile because
the credits never expire. Most tobacco stores sell the Orange Go top-up cards.
Text messaging is much cheaper than voice calls and makes your credits
go a long way.

Phone is locked to the Orange network, but they will unlock it for free after
one year. If you buy a phone there, have the clerk switch the language over
to English (or whatever) before you walk out.

They also didn't tell me about the need to enter a PIN code each time you
turn it on (this feature can be defeated) and I went through 2 of my 3 tries before
my hash soaked brain figured it out. I changed the PIN to one I could easily remember.
