Only 2 dangerous things in the RLD ??

Hi everyone! I am a 40ish Swedish bloke going to the A'dam RLD in a few weeks. I am totally new to this sphere so I was lucky to find this excellent website for geat info!

Anyhow, after having read the forum for hours, I found 2 things that make me doubt whether to visit or not visit escorts in the RLD...

1. Someone wrote that the boyfriend/pimp of some Sabrina had beaten up a customer, for gealous resons! Do all the girls have cocky BFs /pimps/personal pushers that might show up just anytime? I thought all the escorts were totally independent. (?)
2. Does anyone know if it's common that escorts in the A'dam RLD have HIV? Yes I do know this is something we prefer not to think about, scary as such, but I'm just wondering as it might affect what kind of exercises I will take part in... like oral without condom.

Please help me out!
Carl - Last shag 1996, hence my planned trip to RLD...

hiv and jealous pimp/boyfriends are the least of your worries. The sex I've had in the RLD has been the safest sex I've ever had. The condoms are heavy duty and always used. Pimp/boyfriends are the not a problem at all. Watch out for rip-off girls and pickpockets. While not dangerous, those are the 2 biggest problem of the RLD. The rate & search will help with one, a little awareness will help with the other.

Very few working girls are HIV positive and like Dolfino says, they use heavey duty condoms. So AIDS really isnt a worry.

Fair play for you admitting that you have not had sex in 9 years. I have not had it in 3 weeks and Im cracking up already.

the real danger in amsterdam is the car/bicycle/tram/bus traffic. you have to watch where you are walking at all times. especially if stoned. attention must be paid to avoid walking in bike paths. fighting is a rarity and usually involves drunken kids, not pimps.i suppose stds are always possible but the girls always use condoms and i have never had a problem, nor have there been any credible reports of aids caught there, to my knowlege. ny

Are "heavy duty" condoms supposed to be safer? I have never read this in any safe sex literature. Heavy duty condoms are usually the cheapest type, and I would have thought it more likely that people would take them off if they were unable to reach orgasm--which would make them less safe. Personally I would prefer to take my own condoms. I prefer the polyurethane ones myself.

well I guess condom are safe if you do not break them.

In the RlD girls use fairly thick condom and gel to facilitate sliding.

If you cannot get it up it is your problem, girls are not going to be compassionate and start sucking you without condom.

Blow job without condom is very rare and it is given only to well known clients, so it is better not to count on it.

If you did not practice in a while I would suggest you a private house as activities are less mechanical.

In the RLD avoid stunners as they are not that open especially sex wise.

Also I think that if you want a relaxed mood the day it is better, in the night with all the turists hanging out girls have the tendency to rush as they think they are missing the big waves of clients.

Hope everything goes well, let us know

No kidding. Have nearly died several times with near misses from the trams and bikes. Peter sometimes holds my jacket like a leash if the tram is nearby!

2 most dangerous things in AMS, rated by personal injury are
No1Kamikazi cyclists, if you’re a bit “over refreshed” those buggers come at you like a guided missile. Injury count, so far, from 2 incidents, is 1 forehead gash, 2 pair’s strides torn and 1 severe bicycle induced trauma to the bawbag.
No2 Wet tram lines, rushing through a gap in Damrak traffic, trainer makes brief contact with recently rained on rail and whooof, comedy moment for the tourists, sprained wrist and golf ball sized lump on the elbow for me.
The great thing is that in Amsterdam you’re never far from a source of quality pain relief.
I’ve only seen one pimp versus punter fight, and I started that myself. My only STD scare was the result of a trusted girlfriend, and therein lies the life lesson I think, beware of complacency, when you believe you are safe you are at your most vulnerable.

axxxtw,

I THOUGHT I recognized you!!! ;-D

Personally, I think there should be a law that the warning noise should be proportionate to the oncoming danger. Let's get rid of that pathetic little warning bell on the tram and replace it with an air horn. And for those damn bikes, how about something a bit better than that little, "ching, ching" which hardly tells me that I'm in imminent danger of being paralyzed or suffering brain damage?

P.W.

P.S. Peter thinks I should just try using my eyes rather than my ears...fair point to be honest...

I can only add to what's already been said about watching out for bikes. These peple are not exagerating the situation, you will be in mortal danger if you don't keep your wits about you.

Best thing to do when you step out in front of a local on their bike - and you will - is to apologise very loudly for being a stoned tourist and then say something like please don't kill me.

I've been using this technique for many years now in Amsterdam and can tell you that it seems to diffuse the situation with about half the people that you piss off by walking in front of their bike, the other half will glower at you before insulting you in Dutch which is fairly harmless becuase I don't know what they said.

One other nasty little thing to look out for while wandering the RLD is those poles or bollard things at the edge of the pavements. They seem to have been designed to be the exact height to cause maximum injury to a Gentlemans bollocks if he's not wary.

if you stay at the winston hotel or greenhouse effect (both on warmestraat) you are close to good coffeehouses, decent pubs and resturants, and the best kamers in amsterdam.... all without crossing a single tram track. the bicyclists are fairly tame in that area also. so, when you are stoned or drunk... it's a safe place to be. ny

I once cut off a bike parking my car on Prins hendrickkade, to my surprise after mumbling off a few words to me,i noticed he was talking on a phone steering with one hand-he jumps across the island seperating the side road from the main and away he goes, after i got out of the car i noticed that curb was very high. It,s amazing he did that and not fall, i saw him at the last moment and thought for sure i was going to get hit and instead that happened!
