I remember when I first visited the Dam 15 years ago, I saw plenty of women wearing 3/4 lenght jeans that were turned up, with knee high booths tucked under the jeans. It was a look I had not seen anywhere else before or since I think.
Anyway in all my visits back to the Dam, I have always seen many of these women with those jeans walking around. It is amazing that the look has remained fashionable in Amsterdam/Netherlands for so long. Even on my last trip 2 weeks ago, I saw loads of them.

I wonder when the look started first ?? 1970's ??

I like the style of the Dutch women. It sure beats our girls in the states.

im not sure that klompen and rain ponchos will ever catch on as fashion items. But here in Amsterdam we do have both a World Fashion Centre AND an annual fashion week. its getting trendier...

dude it isn't fashion as much as function. walking around with wet bottoms to jeans really sucks! it makes wearing tights and a short skirt with fuzzy warm boots almost make sense! anywho... i rock my jeans tucked into the boots whilst in amsterdam... i do it here in the states too if it is raining.

That's something I always noticed on my many trips over the last 7 years. It's now currently "fashionable" here in Scotland for a lot of women to do the same which means the Dutch are obviously years ahead of their time when it comes to fashion.

High boots with jeans tucked in or the wearing of "Short lenght trousers" is the in thing in the UK and Ireland at the moment every second girl has there jeans tucked in................................................. Its in Fashion kids
