I was looking around Amsterdam on Google Earth to try make visual sense of the Singel walking tours (which I would strongly recommend for those users who struggle with maps and frequently post for directions) - and I came across a note for "junkie bridge" where, it claims, bicycles are sold on the black market for 15Euro and it is so well known that 45% of Amsterdam bicycle sales are alleged to be made on this bridge. Can anyone verify/debunk this information? Obviously I do not wish to support a black market, but equally 15Euro is cracking for a bike and there is the argument that it is the Dutch way, and actually represents a reasonable way for victims of crime to regain their stolen bikes (much like the guilds proposed by Terry Pratchett)
