The second heat wave of the month continues today---predicted temperatures for today will be in the neighbourhood of 38 degrees celsius---or 100 degrees fahrenheit. Some areas in the country have reported temperatures in excess of 42 degrees celsius, that's 107 degress fahrenheit.

There haven't been two consecutive heat waves in nearly 60 years---since 1948 when there were two, and 1947 when there were four.

In this largely un-airconditioned land, drinking large volumes of beer seems like a good idea, although it doesn't help. as we rather stupidly keep rediscovering ;-)

drink on. stay cool.

107 Farenheit? That would be a "Cold Front" in Arizona. The trick to drinking in this heat is have one glass of H20 with every beer, or two with every Margarita:-) On a more realistic note, people that are not acclimated to the heat will have a more difficult time regardless!

Even at night, the temps are above 100. Occassionally, the temps go up at night due to the "Heat Island" Effect!

Bangkok makes evey city seem cool!

I live in the Texas furbace and the above statement tends to be the norm around here all year long.I will admit that last July I spent a couple of very very hot and humid days in Amsterdam and the heat was brutal even for Texas standards.
