For all you satellite view inclined individuals we've just added, for your amusement, the Google satellite map of Amsterdam to the site.

We start it out focused on the Wallen, (naturally!) but you can drag it around, scroll around everywhere, zoom, etc.

On our "maps" page, (second drop down box to your left) you'll find a small version near the top of the page, just below that is the link to the full browser version.

Out of curiosity, will the two unfinished kamer maps ever be up? They've been "coming soon" for quite some time now.

Note: We changed our mirror map to "Hybrid" view---this view includes street names. A proper map.

The great thing about this Wiki map---you can add your own tags and notes to the map of Amsterdam---we have added a few ourselves, and we will add more in time. They'll all show up on the mirror map that we're serving here on the site.

Add coffeeshop, hotels, restaurants, etc., locations and addresses, for example...

On our mirror map, click on the "Wikimapia" title in the upper right corner, then from the menu 'add new place'---other options are available. You can also edit incorrect, or add new information, by clicking on existing tags, etc.

Thank you for this. It is great. I've just spent twenty minutes scouting about and was able to find roughly the location of the two places we'll be staying at. It is great for giving an idea of distance too so that we know how far away we are from certain things - more so than a standard street map.

That's awesome, you can hear the sounds of the trams. Brings back memories. It looks like there was some kinda concert or gathering today in Dam Square right outside of that wax place, madame toussants, by the new church.
