Another successful get together with my fellow mice. What a great time, hanging outside next to Lake Michigan with views up and down both Peninsulas, 75 degrees with a slight breeze, fine smoke (Green Crack and Riffman Hashish), Bells Oberon Two Head Trout IPA and their signature Amber ale...followed by a Bourbon Cask Double that blew us all away.

We were having fun "Old School" style,,,three of us puffing away sitting in a mid-size rental,,,during the mid afternoon,,parked in front of the Elks Lodge across from Grand Traverse Bay,,,,loads of fun and good stories.

Our discussions varied but we did have a common "acquaintances" from De Wallen,,,I think we scared off about 3-4 tables of midwestern women :-)

Ha Ha,,,,way too funny,,,the TCCC was offended (Traverse City Cougars Club)

Until the next time..

Cheers from Blazing hot Arizona!

That is the understatement of the year… I started fading long before the “bourbon and coke”. That Oberon is a fine local hand-crafted beer as well.

I think the multiple combinations of Rifmans hash, Arjans Nederhash, Green Grack, Hogsbreath, and a stunning Pure OG Kush had something to do with it…

Nothing like smoking out in front of the Elks Club, makes you feel like you’re in high-school (pun intended)

Too bad for the 80 year old lady behind us on the patio…She had just convinced her husband of 50+ years that no-one gives oral any more; then they heard the Amsterdam stories coming from our table and her story was blown (pun intended again…)

Good times in Northwest Lower Michigan, glad I’m home so I can sober-up…

Damn you all.
Once again, I'm too late, and a little off track.
I leave for Watersmeet on Friday.

I found a store in Houghton with not only every beer on offer from Bell's, but the complete collection of Sam Smith's as well. I will raise a few glasses in honor of those that I missed.

Hi Weasel

http://www.watersmeet.k12.mi.us/nimrod.html

My beer peeps have been coming through for me the last couple weeks...

One of my VP's is hand-delivering me some Bell's products, as he is driving back to the NYC metro area from Michigan. I gave him a list:

1. Hopslam
2.Expedition Stout
3. Java Stout

Have you seen the Old Ale :

Or the Big Head San Diego Style Ale :

We are the Nimrods, mighty fighting Nimrods....

Yes, that's the place!

Smuler, you might want to sit down before reading the next bit.

Not only have I seen the Third Coast Ale, I have recently finished off a mini-keg. Had a five gallon mini of the Oberon, too. I don't recall the San Diego variety, but the selection was overwhelming, and I may have just overlooked it.
Amazing that things that tasty can come out of the Kalamazoo river!

Bells makes some great beer. ...and I love that I can get Oberon on tap so easily down here in Indianapolis.

Does anyone remember the movie "Hoosiers" ? The guy in the movie who makes the final shot is named Bobby Plump. He own the building and his son owns the business..."Plumps Last Shot." The place is pretty much a dump with bad food and bad service. But, for some bizarre reason I go there a lot.
s
Anyway, you can get Oberon on draft there (seasonally) for $4 and some nights its only $3
