Dear Mods, Site Owners et al,

The find a hotel page states hotel bookings as currently unavailable and to check back soon. Thinks its been like this for a weeks now... any word on when it's due to be back up and running?

Thanks.

Sorry couldn't figure what part of the forum this should belong in.

Hi Otto,
Yeah, I haven't yet opened our own account with hotels.nl and updated the scripting, so it's down for the time being. From what I understand from axxxtw, the "Find a Hotel" thing never really brought in any money, so it's not been a high priority for us, but I'll get to it after I finish work on a few other things (stay tuned). That section needs a facelift anyway, and I need to talk to hotels.nl since the purported "discount" prices listed often seemed anything but! In the meantime, just try hotels.nl, kayak.com, priceline, etc. And thanks for your interest in booking through us... it's appreciated. I'll post something here when it's back up.

Best,
Bluto

Bluto, one other thing to add to Otto's remarks.

The "Register" link appears even after logging in to the site. Normally, when a user has successfully registered & logged in, the natural expectation (imo) would be to not to see "Register" link anymore.

When I click on the Register link (while still being logged in), and agree to the terms, it says "Sorry, but this username has already been taken." which doesn't make any sense. I think, if possible, it is better to hide that link once the user has logged on.

Regards

Yeah, I know. :-)

This will be fixed as part of a number of minor changes, coming soon...

Oh i see. Cheers for the response Bluto. I seemed to recall that some hotels used to come up quite cheap on there when i last used it so just thought i'd enquire. Trying to find some accomm for a week trip mid feb at the mo... but no worries, already been on hotels.nl, not heard of kayak so i'll check that out thanks.

As for updates to site and stuff, could you not do some sort of stickied thread on this forum section which people could just post feedback on broken things, suggestions etc?

Yup, I might do so (or create a separate forum for site technical matters) after the aforementioned changes are implemented, some of which are likely to address many of the outstanding concerns/suggestions I've heard in past. So stay tuned. In the meantime, feel free to post any feedback here or PM me if you prefer.
