CAPELLE AAN DEN IJSSEL – More sex and romance is on many Dutch people's list of resolutions for 2008. 37 percent of the Dutch say they want more sex, 26 percent want more romance.

This emerged from a poll commissioned by pharmaceutical company Pfizer and carried out by research bureau Ithaka among more than 2,500 Dutch people, the results of which were presented on Thursday.

A quarter of those asked said they wanted to introduce more variety into their sex life in the coming year. Not too many are in favour of sexual aids however, with only 11 percent of respondents saying they planned to use them.

The Dutch do not rate their sex lives very highly it seems. The average Dutch person gives it a score of 6.2. Men, who on average give a score of 5.9, are clearly less satisfied than women, who on average give it a mark of 6.7.
