hi, i maybe asking the wrong people, sorry if i am.... im thinkin about moving to amsterdam, but im not sure how to go about it, like flats? job? living? etc does anyone have any advise they could share?

There is plenty of information out there. But the more info you give, the more suggestions you'll get. Do you want your own flat or a room? What profession do you work in? What is your nationality?

With you being Scottish the only requirement is to register with the city where you live. A flat within the ring road will be anywhere from 800 - 1500 euro. With the lower end being a studio and the high a 1 bedroom in the city center. You'll be renting on the free market and estate agents (makelaars) can charge one months rent plus VAT in addition to two months deposit. So it could cost you upwards of 2500 just to get the keys. For jobs have a browse through the sites. http://www.xpatjobs.com/ or http://www.monsterboard.nl/ (Dutch) Elynx, link above, has job postings as well. I would also suggest pounding the pavement and visiting the staffing agencies around town. Have a look at a job at Schiphol as well.
