Sorry to do this, but I just wanted to post a little plea to anyone out there who's been thinking of becoming a "Supporting Member" but just never got around to it.

The reason I bring this up is that- recently I learned Axxxtw has been paying the bills of IgnatzMice out of pocket, as the ad revenue isn't sufficient to cover all the costs of keeping the site up and running (Axxxtw didn't ask me to post this & probably doesn't condone my even mentioning it). If more people answered the call to donate, it would be a nice kick in the pants for the bottom line.

If you check & use the site frequently, please consider anteing up whatever you feel makes sense. It's very easy to donate by credit card (it's done through Amazon and is very secure).

http://www.ignatzmice.com/donate/donate.htm

It's just a one time thing, not an annual/recurring payment or any crap like that-

Sorry for the intrusion...
-Now back to our regularly scheduled programongering...

Hi Admiral,

I agree and I've donated. How much do you have to give before you get the supporting member tag next to your name?

It's an absolutely necessary resource and has saved me much time with weed and women.

Donations above 50US make the benefactor a supporting member and entitles the individual to the coveted title of Supporting Member on the Message Board

I never saw or payed attention I guess to the donation section, I'll see what I can do!! : )

I'd like to donate, and last year I asked the gods who run this site if I could mail them a payment, but the only way to donate is through the on-line service. Last year it was Paypal and Amazon; this year I think it is only Amazon. Unfortunately, I've had problems in the past with both Amazon and Paypal, and I refuse to have any further business dealings with them.

Heynow1210,

US$50 is the threshold to have the "Supporting Member" text next to your handle, so your donation should definitely qualify you. Sometimes it takes a while to get the name changed. If it doesn't show up after a few weeks (as you mentioned) you should consider writing to Axxxtw by PM to see if they got the funds.

Thanks-

Jesus! Well, thanks anyway Admiral---we appreciate your honourable intentions. But if we'd been desirous of divulging a point we mentioned in a private conversation publicly we would've done so ourselves.

To clarify a few things: No, we've received nothing as yet from Amazon, and they are dependable. We've seen people post such claims before...so we remain sceptics until it is demonstrated otherwise. We also ask on the "donate" page that those who choose to donate NOTIFY us by email, to ensure that we are aware immediately of their contribution. Amazon takes a few days to notify us, and usually we'll be trusting enough to upgrade a member based upon their say so.

We decline donations being made by personal check or what-have-you, because honestly, you don't expect us to mess about with trying to cash international personal checks, do you?

Paypal closed our account, without notice or recourse, of course, because as what we do here is considered criminal in that country we are not entitled to be treated in a civil and ethical manner. As nearly all of these types of services originate in the US, and said country is now sadly dominated by conservative right-wing loonies, services such as Paypal, coincidentally based in Tex-ass are no longer available---we are considered pornography. And probably terrorists as well.

Google ads considers us as pornography as well, and declined our application to carry their advertising. They informed us of this. This despite the fact that they carry and advertise hard pornography and every other variety of porn related rubbish themselves, on their own network.

We will soldier on regardless. Until we don't.

That's strange because they sent me an email confirming my payment. Of course, weeks ago and on my aol account so it's not there.

How about I .pdf you my statement when it comes? I can't believe they wouldn't have notified you of payment, it's been over two weeks. I even posted here and the email they sent to me said axxxtw thanks you. Oy.

Axxxtw,

I logged on to Amazon and saw the payment was processed on 4/4. I printed to a .pdf and will email to you. Thanks for letting me know they haven't notified you. They only do payments certain times of the month so that's probably why you haven't gotten it yet. It's on the way. Hope it helps.

Some of us might not want to put it on a credit card. Wife might be unsympathetic about the charge, government agents might be tracking our steps, whatever...I have been known to drop a few Euros in the kamers. Maybe you could put in a drop box for cash donations. Put it in a featured coffeeshop for a month at time, or even better, sponsor a girl and we could leave you both a tip.

Seriously, this site has saved me a ton of aggrevation, and I would love to see it continue in its present form. I just wish there was a way to drop off or send in cash.

i'm sending in another $50 today; couldn't imagine how clueless i would be in amsterdam without this site. very thankful to know there are others who share our common beliefs that the innocuous pleasures of soft drugs and safe sex do not make us immoral misfits. the religious right does far less to advance the cause of world peace. somebody please nominate axxxtw for a nobel prize.

I'd like to kick in another $50 but I want to clarify something...

Are you saying the Amazon donation mechanism is or isn't reliable? Above you say "we've not heard from Amazon yet"...

It was our fault actually. Duh.

A month or two back we reinstalled our OS, due to a disk catastrophe. Just prior to that we retired all of our ignatzmice email addresses, due to horrendous amts of spam and uninvited attachments---a huge strain on our systems---in favour of gmail.

We neglected to update the email address at Amazon, which we only discovered yesterday, as a result of this thread initiated by TheAdmiral.

We have now updated the Amazon account info to our current email address. We are notified instantly of activity on our behalf. Amazon is quite reliable---Windows XP is another matter:-)

A few people inquired about making larger donations, after discovering that they could not. We revisited our account settings and discovered that 50$ is a limit imposed by Amazon. It's not us, as we originally thought. But a few very generous souls got around that by making separate donations.

Your donations, of any amount, simply as a sign of support for the site, keep us going and make us very happy.

To all of you, our heartfelt thanks.

but I would never put my credit card information in any internet-form.

Perhaps it is possible to publish some banking account information on the donation site for guys like me to make a money transfer from account to account with the Forum-Nick and the donation purpose (forum, booze, pills and/or girls).

Have fun,

Novize

Just sent another $50 to the good folks running this board. I'm sure you guys have saved me much more than this via good advice and ripoff warnings. Keep up the good work and thanks!

The site hasn't saved me any money - it's cost me a bloody fortune! I wouldn't have visited Amsterdam nearly as often over the years if it wasn't for the info, and more importantly the wonderful trip reports, whetting my appetite to head over again and again.

Better than any guidebook. I'm in for another 50 too.
