No joke.

The Deutsche Cannabisgesetz (CanG) became law on April 1st!!

The ample nude fruits in Germany found in FKKs, Laufhauses, and ladies.de may now be enjoyed with a joint.

I won't be visiting Amsterdam less frequently, there are there obligations; but in between, I'll be less envious of the Dutch lifestyle.

Cheers,
... Eric

A discreet smoke in the lovely gardens at Golden Time was a bucket list item for me.
Might not have been as satisfying if it was legal!

How is this going to work?
public or semi-public smoking? Private home only?
I don't expect to be able to be able to buy anytime soon, but I assume that I can now carry a small amount in Germany.
Some of the FKK's have a pretty old local crowd. I wonder if all the clubs will allow this, or if there is going to be a bunch of variety.

This could be a game changer for me. I always make time to stop in the NRW clubs. I'm very, very excited now. I'm there in 10 days. It's a dream come true!

I promise you a wicked trip report. My attitude just went WAY up.
Hold my beer, and watch this....

So, I have only seen a few short articles in English.
Using my crappy German skills to try to read:

You must be 18+
You can carry up to 25g of cannabis (can't find anything on hash, Kif, or oils)
You can keep up to 50g and three plants at home.
No limit on THC content, so maybe it is 25g of any option?
May not smoke within 100 meters of a school, kindergarten, playground or sports center.

No sales yet. Sales will be through membership clubs of up to 500 people.
More details to follow.

Nice picture in The Guardian of a smoke-in at the Brandenburg Gate.
I keep thinking this is an April Fools joke, but it looks like this is really happening!

We will see....

Also prohibited in "Pedestrian Zones" from 0700-2000.
I have no freaking idea how this will be enforced.
This could get weird quickly.
The CDU has already declared that they will reverse all of this if they return to power.
I can't wait for LIVE reports from the front lines.

It's a clusterfuck of a law. Intending a law which turned out to be against EU regulations to sell cannabis; it became a law that if you belong to a cannabis social club (which don't yet exist) or grow it yourself, you can smoke it.

Getting weed somewhere is illegal because you can't buy it nor can someone give it to you. If an authority asks you, I've read, you don't need to mention where you got it (I assume it's the equivalent of having the right to remain silent).

In the bubatzkarte (Bubba Kush Map), the places you can't smoke are indicated in red. The red regions are a simple calculation of 100 meters from areas where children go to school or play. The law as it's written says "within sight of". The consensus is that the courts will need to determine whether, for example, a building in the way breaks line-of-sight (https://www.wa.de/verbraucher/cannabis- ... 18474.html). The time restrictions in the pedestrian zones only apply to those areas not also marked red.

Apparently, the German Cannabis Law is practically somewhat of an April Fools Day joke...

Maybe, rather have a beer,

Eric,

Thank You!
The map helps show what a problem this is going to be.
Adding the Pedestrian Zones, this will make smoking in any city almost impossible.
Still no word from the FKK's, some of which are in industrial or rural areas.
