I may visit A'dam for the first time since 2004 in December 2012 or perhaps in the new year 2013.

I'm very confused by the new coffee shop rules. Other Web sites seem confused or out of date.

As a US citizen, can I purchase weed? If so, am I allowed to smoke in a coffee shop? Will this be true in 2013?

Are hotels now very strict about smoking weed?---I've stayed in tourist and business hotels in the past without any trouble.

How much are bags now? I think I used to be offered 2 1/2 and 5 gram bags.

Thanks!

Elections took place a couple of weeks ago and right-wing parties don't have the vast majority they used to.
There's not an official position on what's gonna happen as...well, there's not a gov yet.
The fuc...former minister of justice, main supporter of the pass is said to be reconfirmed.
Many city councils are declaring themselves against the pass, Harleem thought about an alternative to it too.
Nothing more worth of sharing atm, will wait and see.
With the current law you won't be able to buy weed starting 1/1/13
Bags go from 0.5 to 5 grams, legally you shouldn't carry more than that.

On a more positive side note this autumn sounds lemony and hazy :-D

Thanks. Glad to hear the right took a beating in the Netherlands, though in my psychotic country they'd probably be called "communists." ;-)

Seems like I should book a trip to conclude by year's end, but do I want to give the Netherlands my money if they're pissing on the actuality of "freedom?"---I've gone to the Netherlands many times from 1993 to 2004 because freedom is real there, as opposed to just being the silly slogan it is in the U.S.

Sorry for ranting now. I appreciate the information, though it saddens me.
