I was have a little browse on the coffeeshop directory site, and there are some unconfirmed reports

that coffeeshop "free adam" and coffeeshop "extase" have been closed down on oude hoogstraatt

and that coffeeshop "reefer" next to the bluebird has also ceased business.

I haven't noticed any mention of it on here,so was wondering if anybody knew or could confirm this to be true, and possibly why? reefer is a bit of a surprise as I thought they always have had a good trade, and if the other two are closed, would be the end of coffeeshops along oude hoogstraat.

regards

stevey

Free Adam and Extase have been closed for a couple of years. Not sure about the Reefer as I don't pass that area much. Old Church has also closed and is now a bar. The coffeeshop has moved to the old Rockerij III on the Amstel near Rembrandtplein.

Just to clarify that the old church has not yet reopened as a bar. The owner Tonny is intending to do substantial works which have yet to start so it's reopening is some months away yet.

Also, the new Old Church is actually on Amstel not Singel.

Sorry for any confusion.

I had hear rumor that The Coin (Hunters) was on the closing list. I asked the budtender last week and he confirmed that there is a very good chance its will be closed as well.

I'm sure Free Adam was open for business when I last past by a couple of months ago. Are you sure?
Personally, I won't miss Free Adam or Extase, once bitten twice shy.
However, does anyone else think that any CS closing (no matter how poor) is bad for the overall scene in the Dam? It's easy to gain momentum with targets that most people won't cause a fuss over.

Did I spot Route 66 reopened? I was out of it when I passed (8~>)

I can also confirm that Route 66 has re-opened, and it's smoker-friendly.

Unfortunately, I can also confirm that 36, further up the road has indeed closed :(
