You mean DEA guys in helicopters with infrared cams searching for grow rooms? Yup, probably still the case. :-)

It's an exciting time to be sure but we really have to wait and see what the feds try to do about this recent development. I have a friend who lives in Denver and I regularly ask him for updates on what he's seen/heard, etc. We'll see...

I'm watching CNN now. They just had a segment about this and showed some footage inside one of the shops... the pre-rolled joints look exactly like what you'd buy in Amsterdam, same filter tips and everything. The reporter mentioned that some of the weed was selling for $50/eighth (and I guess a substantial portion of that goes to the state coffers now) so I guess lower prices aren't immediately in the offing... hell, that's about what I used to pay in Boston for headies. Still cool though. Exciting times.

They just use drones now.

All we can do is cross our fingers and hope that Congress stays distracted with their petty antics and allows enough time to show that it can work. Otherwise, the first time a kid fails to negotiate a curve on Pikes Peak and they find weed in the wreckage, the Protectors of Our Children will feel it necessary to re-illegalize marijuana again.

They're taxing the stuff hard out there. I hope the politicians see the money flow soon.

My partner just flew back from the Denver airport.
"I haven't seen that many stoned kids staggering around since I quit following the Grateful Dead!"

Much like the good old days at Schipol, when you would sit out at the planters and try to smoke off all of your stash before getting on the plane home. It makes me giggle just to think of it.
I don't think this is going to get reversed.
It's over.
Weed wins!

I really hope the experiments in Colorado, Washington and (above all) Uruguay work out fine (no much doubt about it as the Netherlands has been going quite well for the past few decades)...

It is time to stop the silly war on drugs and allow people to make choices as adults.
