Have any of the coffee shops gone wi-fi?

Certain areas have wifi through amsterdam online - it's like 20E a month or like 12 a week or something. Just turn on your wifi sniffer and it'll come up. Stay off T-Mobile - they suck ass and they are crazy expensive.

Can anyone update more on HotSpot Amsterdam. Is it working well in the areas currently shaded in their map?

I have plans to come in Sept and stay in the north end of the Jordaan. It looks to be out of their zone. I don't have to have access from the appartment I'm renting, but that would be very nice.

Alternatively, are their any cafes in the Jordaan which offer WiFi or would allow connection of a laptop. I want to be able to connect via VPN and sync email on my laptop.
