i just have a few notes about this weeks inhalations. as i think i have mentioned here recently de graal coffeeshop has now run out of the sour diesel which was so wonderful and the guys there seem doubtful of its return. new on the menu this past fortnight is Lime Kush which is a pretty heavy hydro weed. i know little of its lineage but can tell you i really found smoking it a slightly unpleasent experience. ive tried a couple of bags of it to make sure i had a fair representation before commenting but im afraid i simply didnt like the couch lock effect and the heavy headedness it gave me. they still stock the Goldrup which i would recommend highly. prices are 5 euro for 0.77 gramme or 10 for double the volume.
popped over to katsu last night having not visited in a while. picked up a gramme of their Haze Silver Pearl at 10 euro. i had sampled this weed before and like very much the distinctive perfumed, hazey smell and taste. a nice relaxing head high and perfect with a cup of tea (not very scientific explanations i know but im afraid im not a botanist!) they also had the wonderfully named 'Killer Green' still on offer with a minimum purchase of 20 euro for 2 grammes. anybody with any views or experience with this bud id be curious to hear. i just like the name and thats usually enough to make me hand over the cash. i was also tempted by their Sage which was the same deal. another favourite weed of mine but it will have to wait till another time.
i have also been toking a little at the papillon coffee shop in de pijp. they have a special called, predictably, butterfly (papillon is french for butterfly) which is a very tasty white bud for 6.50 a gramme. the shop itself recently re-opened after being closed some time. it looks newly refurbished and sits on one of the prettiest sqaures in the area. try a smoke in there followed by dinner at the adjacent district V restaurant for a great night (
www.district5.nl ) with maybe dessert at park 118 prive huis, 2 minutes down the street walking alongside sarphatipark. you also have the miranda porn video store just down the street which boasts 10,000 titles. also in the very close neighbourhood you will find coffee shops katsu, nice place, club media, atlantis, space mountain, today, old style, blue sea, greenhouse tolstraat, de graal, holiday to name a few. the red light windows of the ruysdaelkade are a brief 10 minute stroll along ceintuurbaan where you can also check out all of the best computer stores in the city if you need any consumables. anyway, papillon comes recommended. my thanks to puffin for mentioning it previously as a great people watching spot and the staff are very sweet too. would make a great venue for a private party i think.
im going to pop into the grey area this afternoon as its been a while for me. have to see what john has come up with of late...
doog!
