Finding independent escorts seems to be kind of a mess in Amsterdam, from my experience.

There is kinky.nl, but it's in Dutch and thus, not amazingly easy to use for English speakers. There are review sites like theeroticreview, but you need to pay to get any particularly useful information. Backpage has ads too, but carries the same risks as using backpage anywhere else, really.

There's Dita, who's a bit cheaper than SS, and is fantastic, but she's moving at the end of the month, so past mid-March or so, will be unavailable. There's goldenangels.com, which is independents. A couple people here have used it, so the actual site, at least, seems to be legitimate, but the quality of the girls and accuracy of the pics seems like it varies wildly.

Personally, I've been doing a lot of research into escorts for my next trip and I've gotten to the point where I've just said "fuck it", and decided to go with the high-end agencies, where at least I know what I'm getting.

If your budget is more limited, you might be better off going to a privehuis.

So here is my update:

Visited Goldenangles as per advise here..Booked Anna for 1 hour of Incall at her Hotel.
Not sure what to expect, visited the Hotel and was provided the Room #. Knocked on the door and the door was opened with the person standing behind the door. Now this is sometimes a trap specially when the person booked is someone different & the reality is something different (bait and switching).

Just as I was standing there thinking whether to enter the room or not, Anna peeked from behind the door and asked me to quickly come inside the room. I was greatly relived to find that she was the same as in the pictures.
Anna is a nice Russian, 24 year old escort with Blue eyes, average height and a nice curvy body. Very close to what I was looking for and was happy at my decision. The escort that I had booked (Anya) had blonde hair as per the pics on the site whereas the girl that showed was brunette. So clearly she was not the girl whose pics I had seen. Made the payment by Credit card and was asked what extras I would like. I asked for GFE (kissing) & that was 50 Euros extra..
