I'm going to Amsterdam next week and I would really like to make a trip to Alkmaar and the RLD there. I will be in Amsterdam between 25-28 october. Anyone up to showing me around and grabbing a beer or two?

It would be with pleasure but I'll be there from 3rd to 5th of november. I'd love to see Alkmaar's RLD too, it's cheaper than Amsterdam, and far away from the touristic environment

Don't despair. Even if you have to go it alone, it is worth the trip. The Achterdam is quite compact, the town is picturesque, and the girls can be spectacular.
It is a little difficult to research. Turnover seems to be quite rapid. Even an expert guide is going to recognise only a few girls on any trip. On the good side, I have never had a rip-off, so have no fear!

How far is this place from Amsterdam

barbino, Alkmaar is at 45 minutes ride from Amsterdam by train. The trains run from Alkmaar to Amsterdam until 1.00 am so you can easily spend most part of the evening in Alkmaar. Which enables you to save a lot of money, because you pay twice as much in Amsterdam as you would do in Alkmaar for a 30 minutes session. 100€ in Amsterdam, 50€ in Alkmaar.

Do you recommend Alkmar? I have heard the prices are lower but how do the women look in your opinion? As good as the Wallen? I'm coming to A'dam in January and I have always thought about a side trip to Germany and/or Alkmar but once I'm in Amsterdam I just can't leave. How is the dayshift in Alkmar? Thanks, Farid

Things to know about Alkmaar,

First of all, a round trip from Amsterdam to Alkmaar costs 11.70 euros, trains run until 1.00 am so you can take your time over there, it doesn't commit you to sleep in Alkmaar.

WARNING ! Purchase your ticket in the automatic selling machines, you can find them anywhere inside the Centraal Station, and even some them are outside, but NEVER purchase them at the desk ! The waiting time can last 40 minutes and the officers selling tickets are incompetent and mistake about the prices. I've been charged 31.70 instead of the normal price 11.70. I tried to claim for the 20 euros missing but since I paid in cash so I have no evidence, so they denied it and refuse to pay me 20 euros back !

How to get there :
when you get out from the station, turn left as the railway is behind you, at the end of the street you border the main river for 10 minutes walk, pass over a casino called the strip. Turn right just before an Italin restaurant. The street is called Achterdam, and doesn't directly cut the river road Kanaalkade, so you have a lot of small alleys to cross before getting there. Anyway Achterdam and the main canal are in a prependiculary directions

About the girls :

I found the girls to be as much attractive as in Amsterdam, some of them are even more. They are also more friendly. The main advantages upon Amsterdam : it's not a rushed environment, no pressure about the time. And also the price 35 euros for 15 minutes. A lot of indoor alleys, and covered areas, you have the impression to loose yourself in a labyrinth full of gorgeous girls.

I've been with 3 girls :

1. Marina stunning Hungarian blonde of 22 years old,
2. Sandra Lituanian 19 years old, with dark hairs and blue eyes
3. Katarina from Greece early 20s

Thanks for all the replys. I went to Alkmaar with a very nice guide, namely Wim and I liked the place even though it was a very strange feeling in the air at that time I was there. Much people and very suspicious people, looked like thugs the bunch of them :) Didn't try any girl but would very much like to try Sisi but I missed her. Very good looking women indeed. Will go back some day for sure.

Well, it's true John, I like the atmosphere in the Wallen better, though it can be overcrowded, compared to the Friday / Saturday night male population in Achterdam.
The line up did not hit me that much that Saturday , it can be better , personally I like Achterdam best on the late afternoon ....
