We're not unfamiliar with the idea of pulling the odd hoax now and then, so we can't say we're surprised by the announcement that the donate-an-organ game show story that made world-wide headlines last week has now been revealed to be a hoax. BNN viewers of the "Big Donor Show" were either surprised or appalled by the announcement. The production company Endemol, who also inflicted "Big Brother" upon the world, used the show as a platform for the kidney crisis in Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands. According to reports, around 200 people die each year while waiting for a kidney transplant. Most patients are on the list more than four years before receiving an organ. The kidney donor, "Lisa" was an actress. Blah, blah, blah. In other media stunt news, U.S. photographer Stanley Tunick pulled off another of his mass nudity photo-shoots yesterday, Sunday. The circular parking garage that sits upon the Singel canal/Marnixstraat in Amsterdam was one of the settings. Approximately 2000 men and women stripped lining the railings of the structure. There were shoots at 3 other locations as well. Tunick has become famous for photographing crowds of the naked in public settings all over the world. It's inevitable that news organizations, in describing the stunt, have used such ridiculous headlines as "More nudity than normal in Amsterdam". Photo stunts by Tunick have taken place in, amongst others, Mexico, Vienna, New York City and Japan. But one doesn't see headlines such as "More nudity than normal in Mexico".
